September Event

Literary Pavers Launch Party

Walrus and the Carpenter (251 N. Main), 6pm, Friday September 5th

The Pocatello Arts Council (PAC) is involved in an ongoing public art project called “Literary Pavers.” Literary excerpts and author identification have been inscribed into two foot square granite pavers and installed into the brick edging along the sidewalks of Old Town. The purpose of “Literary Pavers” is to recognize a broad range of literary forms and to publicly appreciate the vibrant and highly talented literary artists in our community.

We are celebrating the successful installation of the third round of pavers showcasing the work of eight excellent authors: Tom Spanbauer, Joan Juskie, Ron Dean (Daugherty), Michael Corrigan, Barbara Ann Russell,Robert "Bob" Granger,Matthew R. Burch, and Steve Montgomery.

“Literary Pavers” is still under way. We continue to look for original prose or poetry excerpts thematically reflecting Pocatello and the surrounding area (its history, culture, environment, ecology, landscape, people, values, customs, etc.), and we invite you to send in a submission. Please see the call to authors on our web site pocatelloarts.org/calls.htm .
